Makabor Studio is an independent production company, focusing on short fictions and documentaries based in Budapest, Hungary, funded by Kata Oláh director- producer and Sándor Csukás, cinematographer-director in 2004. Their unique passion and enthusiasm create strong trust and creative intimacy with the protagonists of their films. Their films address social issues and have a strong cinematic quality.
All their documentaries and short fictions were broadcasted by different Hungarian TV channels and received numerous national awards. Their films have been screened internationally such as at Edinburgh Film Festival, Clermond Ferrand, Sarajevo Film Festival, Brussels Short Film Festival, etc. “The Barmitzvah Boys” has been nominated to compete in the PRIX EUROPA 2018. “Conquering time Agnes Keleti” has received the prestigious international critics Fipresci prize. Their latest feature length documentary “Narrow path to happiness” premiered at Thessaloniki International Documentary Film Festival receiving the special jury prize.
